Mass Effect Andromeda Takes Top Spot on UK Sales Chart

The results are in. Mass Effect Andromeda tops the UK’s sales chart in its first week of release. BioWare’s latest installment in the Mass Effect series beat out Lego World and Ghost Recon: Wildlands, which enjoyed a short stint at the top spot. This is EA’s first title to hit the top spot since FIFA 17 released in September.

Despite the game’s well-documented animation shortfalls, gamers still went out and got Mass Effect Andromeda. Mass Effect Andromeda’s release is the third biggest release of the year coming behind Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Horizon Zero Dawn, at second and first respectively. That said it doesn’t look like Andromeda will reach the 3 million sales goal set out by EA, as Andromeda comes third in the Mass Effect series for first week sales, only beating out the first installment of the franchise.

The full list plays out like this:
1. Mass Effect: Andromeda
2. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
3. LEGO Worlds
4. Horizon: Zero Dawn
5. Grand Theft Auto V (This is truly a marvel)
6. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
7. FIFA 17
8. Rocket League
9. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
10. Forza Horizon 3

Will Mass Effect Andromeda reach the heights set by Mass Effect 2 and 3? Only time will tell. Regardless, the first week Sales show a solid installment into the series.
